DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY

The Department of zoology located in the lush green and pollution free environment aims to develop learning research and extra-curricular aptitude among the students. A large number of students after completing their plus two and graduation classes from this department are now settled as doctors, professor and researchers in various premier institutions of our country. The department has well-equipped laboratories, instrumentation room and a museum with ample collection of specimens and models. A society run by the students of the department under the banner of "Landscaping Environment For Tomorrow" (L.E.F.T.) has organized extension lectures from time to time. One of the major objective of the L.E.F.T. is to develop environmental awareness among the people and encourage the students to grow up steadily in this direction involving them in the program relevant to fundamental and experimental activities. It is the privilege of this department that ministry of environment and forests, Govt of India, has sanctioned a project for training the students in modern techniques like vermicomposting and water testing. the faculty members, besides publishing research papers in various journals of national and international repute, participate in conferences, seminars and training workshops.
Apart from the above mentioned activities the Department also prepares the students for participation in quiz, declamation, debate and poster competitions. Educational tours are organized to make the students familiar with the fauna of diversity rich areas. Presently the department offers B.Sc. (medical) with specialization in medical Zoology.

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

Chemistry is a very important subject for students of science. It is indispensable for both medical and non-medical students. Students seeking admission to Engineering and medical college have to focus quite a lot on the Chemistry. Quite often students entering college are deficient in their grasp of the basic of Chemistry. They have to take extra pains to come to terms with the intricacies of the subject. The department extends all facilities to students to enable them to develop an understanding of Chemistry Well-equipped and fully modernized Chemistry laboratory facilitates the learning of the subject through practical. Apart from covering the syllabus, the department prepares the students for various competitive exams. The efforts of the teachers in the direction are reflected in the achievements of our students who are serving humanity as doctors, engineers, teachers and technocrats. To promote extra curricular interests in students chemistry society arranges functions throughout the year. During the next year, arrangements are being made to start courses for sugar Technology and pharmaceutical Chemistry.
