Philosophy, the Mother of all sciences, sharpens students' critical and analytical faculties which also helps them in understanding other disciplines/subjects in a better way. A highly scoring subject helps them not only in getting good marks in B.A. but is also a very helpful subject for I.A.S., P.C.S. and other competitive exams.

Political Science is one of the oldest and most popular departments of our college. Almost one fourth students of our college opt for Political Science every year. At present about 500 students in our college are studying Political Science. The subject proves very helpful in appearing for Civil Services examinations.
Methodology of Teaching :
Basically the lecture method is used for teaching the subject, still efforts are made to actively involve the students in the process of teaching, learning and evolution. Students are encouraged to ask questions in the class and to prepare regular assignment. Current news of the last day's newspapers are discussed in the class. Occasionally the students are sent in the field with a questionnaire to get empirical knowledge (like exit polls during elections).
Political Science Society :
Department has a subject society named political Science Society. It is managed by the students representatives under the guidance of their teacher in-charge. Society arranges group discussions, seminars, quiz, cultural activities and educational tours.

Department offers this subject from +2 to B. A 111. After getting graduate degree in sociology students can be placed at different departments as personal managers, Community officers, public relation officers etc. In B. A 111. The method of field study helps students in taking up different research projects at post graduate level and even after that.This subject offers excellent opportunities for competitive examination especially for IAS and PCS.
