Baring College affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was originally founded as a school by Rev. Francis Henry Baring, a British Missionary in 1878. It was later upgraded as Intermediate College in 1942, a degree college in 1944 and a postgraduate, multi faculty, coeducational institution in 1966.
